Most restoration companies stop once your home is dry. They pull out the wet drywall, set up fans for a few days, send you their final invoice, and tell you to find a contractor for the rebuild. Now you are starting over with a stranger, a new estimate, a new schedule, and a new bill.
One Call Services does not work that way. The same crew that dries your home rebuilds it. One point of contact from the day water hits the floor until the day you move the furniture back in. We have been doing this work in Fremont since 2012. We have 30+ years of combined experience and full IICRC certification (IICRC #163618) on the restoration side.
Call (510) 394-1606 right now if your property needs water damage reconstruction. The longer structural damage and moisture issues go untreated, the more extensive and costly the repairs can become.
The build-back phase replaces materials that could not be saved after water or fire damage. Here is what we do:
Drywall Repair and Replacement
Wet drywall has to come out. Usually that means the bottom two feet of any wall that took on water. We cut clean lines, install new drywall, tape, mud, sand, and prime to match the rest of the room.
Flooring Replacement
Most flooring can be saved with proper drying. Some cannot. Saturated carpet pad, warped hardwood, and water-damaged laminate often need replacement. We handle carpet, tile, hardwood, and luxury vinyl plank.
Cabinet Repair and Replacement
Kitchen and bathroom cabinets are some of the most expensive items to replace after water damage. We repair what can be saved and replace what cannot. We coordinate the timing so cabinets go in after the drywall and flooring are finished, not before.
Full Property Rebuild After Water Damage
For the worst jobs (whole-room or whole-floor damage from a major flood, a slab leak, or a fire) we handle the full rebuild. Drywall, flooring, cabinets, trim, paint, and final cleanup, all under one project plan.
When Does the Rebuild Begin?
Rebuilding starts after mitigation is finished. That means the water is fully extracted, the structure is dry, and any mold is treated. Building over wet materials traps moisture inside the walls. That causes mold and rot. We use moisture meters and thermal imaging to verify the structure is dry before we frame, hang drywall, or install flooring.
The mitigation phase usually takes 4 to 7 days. The rebuild phase depends entirely on the scope. Small repairs can be done in a few days. Full rebuilds can take weeks.
Rebuilds After Water Damage
Most of our rebuild work follows a water damage job. The typical scope:
- Replace the wet drywall we cut out during demolition.
- Replace flooring and padding that could not be saved.
- Reinstall or replace baseboards and trim.
- Repaint the affected rooms so the new walls match the old.
- Final cleanup and walkthrough.
If your job started with water damage, see our water damage restoration page for the full mitigation process that comes first.
Rebuilds After Fire Damage
Fire jobs are different. The scope is usually bigger. Materials are more affected: smoke-stained walls, heat-warped framing in worst cases, and contents that need to come out before work can start. We coordinate everything: drywall, flooring, cabinets, paint, and final cleanup.
If your job started with a fire, see our fire damage restoration page for the cleanup phase.
Working With Your Insurance
The rebuild is almost always part of the same insurance claim as the original water or fire damage. We document the scope for your adjuster. That includes photos, materials list, and line-item costs. The claim moves forward without back-and-forth. We bill insurance directly when coverage applies. We work with your adjuster from start to finish. We cannot promise specific coverage outcomes (that is between you and your insurance company), but we give them everything they need.
Why Choose One Call Services
The rebuild phase is where projects usually go wrong. Bad communication between two contractors. Materials that do not match the original. Schedules that slip by weeks. Here is how we avoid that:
- Same crew handles mitigation and rebuild. The technicians who dried your home know the scope better than anyone.
- One point of contact. One phone number. One person who knows your job.
- Locally owned since 2012. Based in Fremont, not a national franchise.
- IICRC-certified on the restoration side (IICRC #163618), with 30+ years of combined experience.
- Bilingual project managers. We speak English and Spanish.
- Free inspection and a written estimate before any work begins.
- Consultative approach. We give you options. If a cheaper path makes more sense for your situation, we will tell you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you handle both the mitigation and the rebuild?
Yes. Same team from start to finish. You do not need a separate contractor for the build-back.
What kinds of work do you do?
Drywall repair and replacement, flooring replacement, cabinet repair and replacement, and full property rebuild after water damage. For fire jobs, we handle the same scope plus content cleaning and paint.
How long does the rebuild take?
It depends on the scope. Small repairs (one or two rooms) can take a few days. Larger rebuilds run a few weeks. Full property rebuilds can take longer. We give a timeline at the free inspection.
Will my insurance cover the rebuild?
Typically yes, if it is part of a covered water or fire damage claim. We bill insurance directly when coverage applies and document everything your adjuster needs.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. We cover Fremont and the surrounding Bay Area within roughly 30 miles.
Do you offer Spanish-speaking project managers?
Yes. Our team is bilingual in English and Spanish.
